Documentary collections are used to facilitate importation/exportation of goods between parties and collection of sales proceeds.

  • If documents are against acceptance (DA), allows an importer a period of credit and at the same time assuring exporter of payments
  • Drawee has the flexibility on settlement of bills (especially for documents against acceptance)

A loan facility given to an importer (customer) to settle trade finance related bills that have matured before the importer (customer) has mobilized adequate resources to settle the same.

CIB Salary Smart Loan

  • Minimum employment period of 6 months or upon confirmation to permanent and pensionable employment terms
  • Loan duration minimum of 6 months and maximum of 6 years or remainder of the employment contract if employed on contract
  • Loan repayment to be at check off or direct debit or salary account
  • Loan limit from minimum of KES 80K to maximum of KES 6 million
  • Interest rate is based on risk-based pricing model
  • For corporates that provide cash backing, the rate will be negotiated
  • Credit life insurance cover to be held for the duration of the loan by an insurance company in the Bank’s panel
