Ashraf Mohamed Aziz Shash is an experienced banking professional, currently serving as the Head of Direct Investment at the Commercial International Bank (CIB – Egypt) with an impressive tenure spanning over 27 years. Embarking on his journey with the bank in 1995, he is recognized as a distinguished expert in various domains, including Private Equity, Corporate Finance, Asset & Financial Restructuring, Risk Management, Credit Appraisal, and Project Finance. His versatile expertise has been showcased across multiple departments within CIB, such as Correspondent Banking, Corporate Banking, Investment Banking, Strategic Planning, and Investor Relations.

Throughout his career, Mr. Shash has played a pivotal role in steering numerous mega deals involving privatisation, Corporate Finance, and M&A transactions. His strategic vision has been instrumental in shaping and spearheading initiatives at CIB. Notably, Mr. Shash also serves as a Board Member, representing CIB in several portfolio companies, showcasing his leadership and commitment to organisational success. In his capacity within CIB, Mr. Shash plays an influential role in overseeing strategic and investment decisions related to the bank’s affiliated companies and subsidiaries. Mr. Shash’s educational foundation is anchored in his graduation from The Cairo Faculty of Commerce in 1988, where he majored in Accounting. Notably, he has participated in courses conducted by renowned institutions such as INSEAD, London Business School, and others conducted by Harvard Business School, further enriching his strategic and financial expertise.
